PHBSP (Pennsylvania Healthcare Benefit Solutions Program) partners with the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy to provide a robust environment where students learn about health insurance navigation, home patient counseling skills via a telehealth setting, and complete a team-based project that benefits the Pittsburgh community. Students also have the opportunity to create enduring content for the public and for future learners, such as educational podcasts and video-casts on topics such as how to save money on prescriptions, the basics of insurance, and commentaries/perspectives about global health. First-year Doctor of Pharmacy Program students are precepted, mentored, and trained by the founder of PHBSP, William McKendree. Below you will find an array of different topics ranging from common Medicare questions to How To Avoid Problems at the Pharmacy created and provided by these students.
